Our portfolio in the Rocky Mountains is approximately 45 minutes west of Denver and 45 minutes east of Summit County, Colorado USA. Here, we are witness to the ancestral and majestic lands of the Ute and Arapahoe as well as the cities, ghost towns and abandoned artifacts that emerged from the celebrated 19th century Colorado Gold Rush. Today, a glorious Continental Divide continues to inspire, the alpine climate restores the soul, the wild flowers are jewels bestowed upon the snowmelt-fed valleys, and the delicate wildlife ecosystem is abundant.

The ancient Roman architect, Vitruvius, stated that a structure should have strength (firmitas), utility (utilitas) and beauty (venustas). Vitruvius Properties was established in 2015 to represent an exclusive, non-duplicable Rocky Mountain experience of ownership rooted in strength, utility and beauty. Vitruvius Properties’ dissects the suitability of developable lands and brokers the conveyance of such lands operating at the highest level of due diligence. Vitruvius Properties is practiced in marketing and the management of unique housing developments and the stewardship of vast, contiguous land parcels. Our antiquarian manages and continuously builds upon an impressive archive of rare documents necessary for the work. The firm holds an Employing Level Broker’s License with the Colorado Division of Real Estate and is a member of the Denver Metro Association of Realtors.

Vitruvius Properties’expertise includes repurposing historic, south-facing gold mining acreage by integrating sleek, modern, mining-era inspired home designs and construction. These homes employ groundbreaking, grid-independent technologies. This outstanding, rural mountain sensibility promotes health, sustainability, independence, contemplativeness, and technology. Each home is unique and named after the gold mine lode (mineral rights included) or mill site on which it is built.

In addition to have created a sophisticated, grid-independent mountain lifestyle, we specialize in developing and constructing in the National Historic District. Roworth Heights is a dynamic infill community located within the City of Central, Colorado USA. These homes pays homage to the City of Central’s unique 19th century mountain vernacular architecture, scale, and walkability, while establishing a new bar by seamlessly integrating historically inspired exteriors with contemporary, energy efficient interiors. This groundbreaking project is indisputably unique, the first of its kind in over a century.

Documentation on these historic properties, including 19th century hand drawn Plats, and hand written Patents and Field notes are archived at the United States Bureau of Land Management. Access, views, solar exposure, topography and site phenomenology drive a structure's architecture and energy footprint.

Our firm holds a Class C General Contracting license with the City and County of Denver, Gilpin County, Jefferson County, the City of Central, and the City of Golden, Colorado.

This lifestyle is not for everyone.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

Henry David Thoreau
