STRENGTH. UTILITY. BEAUTY.
The ancient Roman architect, Vitruvius, stated that a structure should have firmitas (strength), utilitas (utility) and venustas (beauty). Vitruvius Properties was established in 2015 to create an exclusive Rocky Mountain experience rooted in Strength, Utility and Beauty. Our comprehensive services begin with conception through an imaginative design process, defining budgets, assembling the right team of artisans, planning and executing efficient construction, post project support and maintenance. We enjoy the hard earned distinction of having performed in some of Colorado’s most challenging building environments.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
A decade ago, our Founder, Carl Schembri, was determined to merge his experience in adventure travel, film, art, copywriting and a good run in advertising.
It was in the gold belt of the Colorado Rockies where Carl found an opportunity to package his experience and create a new product: Modern, sustainable, grid-independent lifestyles constructed on historic, patented gold mining acreage less than a 45 minute drive from Denver.
Ten years later, Colorado is his palette, his team is a community, and there is abundant joy working with clients eager to take the leap in forging a new future in Colorado.
Outside of Vitruvius, Carl is fortunate to celebrate the achievements of his daughters. Anouk, his oldest, graduated with Distinction from Yale University in 2024, and his youngest, Coco, 18 years junior to Anouk, is charismatic, creative, and brings a smile to everyone. Carl enjoys restoring 1950’s Italian motorcycles, and driving his vintage Porsche throughout breathtaking Colorado.
Charitable Partners
ISLP
While Vitruvius’s work is centered in the Colorado Rockies, we are inspired by architecture, cultures, traditions, and initiatives that reflect and elevate communities around the world.
In this spirit we have selected as our primary charitable partner the International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP), an independent, nonpartisan charitable organization that promotes inclusive and sustainable global development. ISLP’s work in over 40 low-income countries includes enhancing responsible natural resources management and facilitating community-inclusive development.
Through our charitable commitment, Vitruvius seeks to expand access to opportunities and support innovations in global development.
